After graduating college with a B.S. in Business Marketing from San Diego State Universtiy in May of 2008, I knew my short-lived time in San Diego wasn’t through. My original plan during college was to work in a huge advertising agency as an account exec building huge brands, but I soon discovered the start-up universe was a better fit. Feelinng a shift in the marketing industry, I decided to go interactive and scored an epic summer internship immediately after graduation at the start-up friendly digital-telepathy. Those guys were great, and gave me the tools and the breeding grounds to grow into a GEEK!
In October of ‘08, based solely on connections and networking and not on Résumés or Craigslist ads, I met my amazing boss, Max, from the small, but prosperous Thunder SEO (previously Thunder Internet Marketing). He gave me an opportunity when others were slamming doors due to my lack of “experience.” After months of keyword research, title/description tags, and link building, I became the SEO Marketing Manager in January 2009, and I haven’t looked back since. It’s been so rewarding to see our clients’ businesses grow and industry conferences and building relationships within my community has proved worthwhile. I’m so lucky to have a great job in these rough economic times.
When I’m not working, my hobbies include photography, cycling, reading, nature, experiencing music in multiple settings, and touring local craft breweries. I don’t update this blog as often as I would like to, but I am going to make an effort to post at least once a month!!
